    • No biohazardous material accepted.*
    • Liquids and gases in or associated with equipment are unacceptable.
    • CRT (tube) televisions or monitors, liquids, light bulbs of any kind, hazardous materials, cans, bottles, oils, cleaners (liquid), automotive parts, tires, construction type materials, household appliances (microwave ovens, air conditioners, washer/dryer) etc.
      and paper.

* Please note, that alkaline batteries can be disposed of with regular trash, we do not accept these.

How do you recycle e waste?

E waste should be recycled through a certified electronics recycler or IT asset disposal provider.

At Keystone, e-waste recycling involves secure collection, proper handling, data destruction for data-bearing devices, asset value recovery, and certified recycling for non-reusable equipment.

Why are certain electronics considered hazardous?

  • Several electronic items contain the following hazardous components: lead, mercury, copper, cadmium, chromium, zinc, and other heavy metals, etc.
  • UPS Batteries: batteries are made up of nickel and cadmium. Cadmium is the human carcinogen that causes lung and
    liver damage. Alternatives contain potentially explosive lithium or toxic lead.
  • Circuit Boards: Circuit boards contain mercury, lead, and cadmium. Some circuit boards even have batteries that are
    made of mercury or mercury switches.
  • Laptops: The screens in laptops contain small fluorescent lamps that contain mercury

Do you provide recycling certificates or documentation?

Yes. Keystone can provide certificates of recycling and, where applicable, data destruction documentation for accepted equipment through our client portal.

Our certified ITAD services are designed for banks, businesses, offices, data centers, law firms, healthcare facilities, laboratories, and institutions. Contact Keystone directly to schedule pickup and confirm acceptance.

Yes. Hard drives, servers, laptops, and other data-bearing devices are accepted. Keystone follows secure handling procedures and can provide data destruction and recycling documentation upon request.
